The first project was conceived when we heard about the children in a local school called Ellen Tinkham School which looked after disabled children. We found it so hard to believe that there were children who simply could not get around because they did not have the necessary frame or chair to assist them. We have been asked to help a little 3 year girl, called Shabanna and buy her a special chair that costs £1,648 – so in a heartbeat we decided to commit – not just interested – but to commit to help Shabanna. We are in the process of raising funds to do this, so if you wish to help please feel free to make a donation by clicking on the donation button on this page, or you can post a cheque, payable to “in a heartbeat”, to our address to be found under contact us.
“My name is Shabanna and I am 3 years old. And I have a condition called Warburg Micro Syndrome - one of 24 known cases to be reported in the World! I am the youngest pupil at Ellen Tinkham School. As I am so small, there is not a chair that fits me here at school so I would really love it if you could help me. I have tried one from a company called Leckey and the one that fits me is the Squiggles chair.”
We are in the process of raising funds to do this, so if you wish to help please feel free to make a donation by completing the donation form clicking on the donation button on this page where you can make a one-off or even better a monthly donation, or you can post a cheque, payable to “in a heartbeat”, to our address to be found under contact us.
